Artist Biography - Patricia K Wiseman

While an adult student at Saint Xavier University, Pat Wiseman began her pursuit of photography which led her to expand beyond the ordinary snapshots of everyday life. In the subsequent years, she has enjoyed many photographic travel opportunities including India, Costa Rica, Hawaii and National Parks in the United States.

She documents these occasions in the beauty of nature and people. What she finds intriguing is how images come alive with their odd shapes, lines and forms; they appear as sculptures with subtle silhouettes which take a life unto themselves.

Her images are simple in nature, remain uncluttered, and especially, when photographing children, show life in its purest form. The focal point tells the story of our inner spirit.

While not formally educated in fine art, she observed people’s reactions to her work and took it to heart. This drive and passion drove her to work hard and expand her artistry.

Her artistic endeavors are summed up in the quote she read years ago, "it is not the answer that enlightens, it is the question."

Pat has never forgotten this statement and, in its spirit, invites you to stop, question, and enjoy.
